Friend had just finished and turned down an from Saints new DC for his place at the end of Carr Drive. It was sickening to pull up there after the storm. I was loving that 2 minute run to the trestles.

Lived in Frenchmans Estates off and on for 10 years. House definitely got wet, but miraculously the trees all twisted around themselves and none fell on the house

If I could choose anywhere to hunt/fish I would choose the Venice area. Tons of hogs, rabbits, gators, ducks, geese, some deer and I can catch just about any species of fish. Crabs and crawfish can be caught there also. One morning two of us killed 12 ducks, 40 geese, caught limit of reds during the day, and then I shot a nice buck that evening.

Only drawback to the area is hurricanes which can mess up the deer and duck/goose hunting for that year and more.

Deer hunting is better up north obviously rack and numbers wise but we still kill some descent deer. Don't have any turkeys though.

A deer with a big rack means zero to me. I can understand clubs growing racks and respect their rules, but I just hunt for the meat. I do follow age restrictions unless I don't have meat at the end of the year. Get what I need and get out.

A deer is a deer to me, nothing different. I have no desire to show off a huge 12pt to people. Just doesn't mean anything more than the weight of the deer.

Although, it would be nice to hand a nice buck on my wall.

My goal is to kill a big buck, but big is relative. In much more proud of my 16" 10 point from my place than I would be of any 22" 12 point from tensas.

Basket rack swamp deer are pretty unique. I called my buddy up one night and told him I shot a 13pt. He got all excited, sped over, and realized it had a 14" spread.
