I buy from Bear Industries in Port Allen. Call Johnie Brown at 225-383-0843. also bear-ind dot com. You need to tell them what size (grade) you need and what size truckloads. Think they have 12 and 20 yard trucks.

You might also try Richfield Riversilt. They’re just south of LSU on River Road. You can Google them for a phone number. High water on the Mississippi may have affected some of their services.

Vulcan is the big boy in town. They are on river rd in geismar. You buy rock by the rim not the yard. FYI. Usually you ask for it by the truck, dual, tri, or quad axle This denotes the amount of weight it can carry legally.

I need to cover a 10'x12' area so I am guessing I can do it with a load from my one tone 5'bed. Will they do that as well?

Not sure if they will load in the back of your truck if that’s what you are asking but I second bear industries. Really nice people and easy to deal with ( cash at delivery or credit card when ordering). They delivered another load for me a couple of weeks ago. Small truck ( 15 ton?) was $600 delivered about 15 Miles. They will tailgate spread if you let them know when you order so they can send the right truck.
Edit. Just saw your last question. Call and ask if they know of anyone with small dump trucks. There is a guy around new roads with a 5 yd truck that would be perfect for you but I don’t think he would go to BR.

10' x 12' x 4" thick is about 1.5 yds, and a little less than 2 tons. Probably have to find a smaller dealer and haul 2 loads in your truck.

Jim Stone on Florida Blvd right by O’Neal has what you are looking for. They have multiple grades of limestone and will drop a yard in your truck no problem. It’s been a couple years since I have bought but i think it was $55.00 a yard.

Bear will load you. Weigh you going in and out. If you want something that packs well you want 6-10 which is basically road base.

Jim Stone on Airline will dump a half yard in your truck bed. I believe St Gabriel Hardware has limestone as well.
