Like the title says, my father and I haven't been fishing since the first week of January. His wife was diagnosed with stage 4 bladder cancer after months of searching for the issue and he has been extremely busy with her. We normally go trout and redfishing every week or two so we can figure out where they are at ourselves. I would really like to be able to put him on some fish, she's making his go fishing tomorrow since all he has done is care for her since her issues have started. The chemo symptoms have started this week and it's killing him watching her deteriorate. If y'all could point us to where they are at that would be wonderful! Our normal spots are hopedale and point aux chenes with ocassional trips to cocodrie. We normally use artificial but will usually buy fresh dead shrimp when the fish aren't biting good.

Let me know when you find out!

Sounds like time is limited commodity here. If you can swing it it might be easiest/best to get a charter so you can focus on the things that matter here.

Out of Hopedale, the North and East side of Lena Lagoon have specks on a falling tide but in the last week they're getting smaller as the larger ones move out to spawn. Find a drain and clean water on a falling tide.

Rock Dam either side has been productive but crowded on weekends when I'm not normally there.

Shell Beach Bayou Yscloskey at Lake Borgne entrance on right side there's a 10' to 15' hole that has 14-16 inch occasional 20" specks but not for much longer.

The usual close in spots.

Matrix shad Green Hornet, Holy Joely and Shrimp Creole in that order.

Brown shrimp growth was stunted by cold winter they're too small right now so no live shrimp for another 2 weeks or so.

Haven't been chasing Reds so no info there but have caught a few 16-20 inch ones.

Tight lines.

Picked a dozen trout in Leeville yesterday before the wind got too crazy.

Caught a limit last Saturday in marsh between PAC and catfish lake. Stick and move as fish are scattered. Small plastic under a cork worked best. Caught a few on topwater early. Electric clutch on pro drive went out and had to wait a couple hours for good samaratin to tow me back:(

Stay out my spot, baw.

Seriously though, there is a spot in that general area that we catch monster trout out of in April- May. My boat is too big and brothers smaller bay boat is still too big so we use a bateau to get in there. Throw castanet, keep good size pogies in a live well that keeps them alive, smash fat trout.
