Shitty politics. I don't plan to return until recent antigun legislation is repealed.

The politics aren't as bad as they are made out to be. The state has a pretty impressive gun ownership percentage. The majority of the state is pro hunting and pro guns. Don't let the liberal pockets north of Denver and in the small ski resort areas fool you. This state is geographically red. It's the concentrated municipal areas that try and dictate policy for the rest of the state. Despite the perception, they don't control as much as they would like you to believe they do.

I'd love to see one of the liberal hippies out of Boulder come try and take a Meeker family's guns. That shite would not go well.

July is a great month in CO. I recommend you do Independence pass into Aspen then head west out of Carbondale to Redstone and Marble. You won't regret it.

You can stay a night in Avalanche Ranch then head down to Glenwood Springs and do some white water rafting. Hiking Hanging Lake is an absolute must if you are in the area. You can also hike up to Doc Holliday's grave in Glenwood.

The mule deer will walk right next to our house in NM, some are pretty damn big too. I will be going on a hunt this fall there.

I don't but I'm considering starting this year. My neighbor and good friend is big into elk hunting and wants me to get started and hunt with him. Some of the best elk hunting in the state is right behind our house. He killed this bull two years ago.
