We used to sell out coons for 10-15 for meat and had'em lined up out the door wantin all we had. Super bowl time we made a killin.

$5 small, $10 med, $12 large here in Denham springs.

Edit. These are bought from Michigan and shipped down. They get a lot bigger than Livingston Parish coons.

I sold mine for $8 unless they were real small then $5. If I sell anymore they will go up to $10 and $8 but I haven't trapped for coon in a couple years.

best I ever did was on prime grade A, $18-20 a round, and 2 dollars per pound for meat. this was in about 1971.

I kept the young kittens to fry.

If you're asking me I don't have one. I have never cooked a coon I my life. I have ate it and about 1 out of 4 tries it was fit to eat. I'm not a big fan of coon flavor.

I bet I could cook it where it would be good, I could make a spare tire taste good.

The times I've ate it I liked it. Got an old man that doesn't take the glands out that use to work here. When he would heat up leftovers in the kitchen it would stink the whole building up. He just ate around them
