We had about 10x F350 diesel at a time between 2010 and 2020 at work. It was rare that the engine would survive the warranty period even a really thorough maintenance program. That was 100% towing oilfield stuff though and lots of idling. I’m sure they’d be better for your use case but usually it wasn’t even wear. It was mostly something dumb and random like a valve cracking or a glow plug breaking off and bouncing around the cylinder. I’d never touch one of those diesels personally. Rest of truck was solid at least. Maybe replaced one voltage regulator and a few dozen windshields.
A diesel with glow plugs is a time bomb.

Do you do any tractor work as well? Bush hog, food plots etc.

I had to get a new pick up last year before heading to Canada.

Ended up with a 2020 gmc 2500 duramax. I’ve put about 60k on it in a year and have had no issues other than routine maintenance and a recall. So far so good and the majority of the miles I put it on it are hard miles.
