Keep your dogs quiet. There is nothing more aggravating than an undisciplined shiteater booger barking at me when I am in my back yard desiring peace and quiet. My neighbors have a neurotic Australian shepherd that does this exact thing, but when they know we're outside they put the dog inside their house.

I will add when in had my lab he only barked for a reason, but I still made him stop quickly. If he didn't it would get physical, but that usual didn't have to happen.

While I obviously was being over the top you two seriously need to consider everyone else around you a bit and resolve this as amicably and quickly as possible.

The AB just went out for 30 minutes. Not a single bark. I think I’m going to go ask the man politely to stop antagonizing him so that he won’t bark. The throwing rocks thing is what’s doing it.

Although he didn’t handle that like he should, I understand his frustration. The neighbors are being put in a situation where they have to either approach you about your dog, or not, and then the anger festers and rocks start being thrown and alarms start going off.

Thanks for the input everyone. I do know that it’s my animal and my responsibility not to infringe on anyone else’s peace and quiet. Throwing rocks into my yard set me off as my child was outside playing. Like I said, I’m going to go talk to the guy. If that doesn’t work I’ll call Coot and he can solve the problem for both of us.

For owners with barking dogs, it's like living next to the train tracks.....you just stop hearing it after a while. From what I got out of your post, you didn't give a shite about the barking until the guy retaliated. Get your dog under control. It drives people nuts. Seems like the problem will fix itself after that

I had one neighbor whose outside dog barked 24/7. She'd get so annoyed with the barking, she would yell at it, then just give up and leave the dog outside to continue barking

Eta: I know from experience that all he has to do is record your dog barking for a certain amount of time, and then you will be fined (my dog wasn't the barker)

I'm thinking there are three sides to this story.

He shouldn't have thrown rocks over the fence but this is 100% on you/your dog for starting this situation. Get a shock/bark collar for the dog. He will learn real quick to STFU and everyone will be happy.

You get two big arse dogs and live in the suburbs you really need to keep them quiet.

My neighbor has a lab that barks incessantly. Ever time I walk out the side door he goes nuts.

The saving grace is that I can’t hear him in my house or back yard. I don’t know how they don’t just shoot him

This does seem like the simplest solution. Looking at them now.

As anti barking dog as I am, you gotta have a talk about rock throwing.
