I had a 2" body and 2.5" suspension and ran 33x12.50 swampers(which are bigger than most 33x12.50s) and didn't really need to regear. 6" with 35s requires regearing

I had a 2.5 on my 07 Tacoma and ran 33s. On my '12 I have 2 in the front and 1.5 in the rear and I'm going to run 32s (265/75/16) right now it's on the stock tires 31s. Anything over 32s really starts to kill your mpg

Yeah, I understand. But honestly, I love my mid-sized truck and that's all that matters. Are the bigger ones nicer? Sure. But I'm not a fan of filling her up all the time but I've got a truck that I enjoy that's 4x4 and averages 19 mpg for me on my way to work and school.

Thinking about doing this. Maybe 2.25 in the front and 1 or 1.5 in the rear with 32s.

I love my colorado don't let the "bigger truck with super swampers and jacked up to the ceiling=bigger dick" rednecks give you too much shite.

I'm checking in with a smaller vehicle as well.

I have an 04 Grand Cherokee limited with 3" front and 2.5" in the back. Tires are 265/75R16 BFG A/T which is about a 32x10.5 and they look pretty good.

Whoever was asking about the Liberty, you could use the same exact lift I have and it would look awesome. A lot of guys wheel those and I've seen quite a few with 2" lifts around BR. Lift is only a couple hundred bucks and install is easy easy. Since the Liberty and Grand Cherokee are both unibody, there is no such thing as a body lift, only suspension. Get it done son!

You're the man.

May also do the torsion bars in front and shackles in rear to save money. Appreciate everyone who gave the good input.

Mine was an 04. I beat the pinch weld flat as a board, and they fit in there. Without that, they wouldn't have

I dunno if I would hate on Swampers. They are pretty legit if you have ever ridden in the mud with them. Blow away many other tires. Throw huge clumps of mud. It is great. Although, a lift and tires on a pavement queen isn't my idea of cool, so TIFWIW

Smaller trucks can actually be a lot easier to maneuver in many places. Once you throw in hills and tight spots, the big truck appeal fades quickly, especially if everyone is running on similar tires.

Know the limits of your truck, and build it according to how it will be used. Most people ignore this and build totally useless trucks. Most of the jacked up Super Duty trucks have crap tires on big rims all for show.

I'd avoid cranking the torsion bars. It gives lift but its akin to walking on your toes - does nothing to create a working suspension for the large tires. What would help set you on the right path is finding a forum with a board dedicated to small Chevy trucks. See what actual owners have used and experienced.

While we're on this thread, who knows about leveling a truck? I'm considering doing this to mines.

If you drive your truck to work everyday you will hate swampers. Fact.

If you like talking on your celly telly in the truck, you will hate swampers. I couldn't hear a damn thing

I drove on them every day and didn't have any problems with the swamper hum. It is an acquired taste. Got 40k out of them too, which wasn't too bad

I had destination M/Ts on mine and hated it. Couldn't have a conversation with someone else in the can on interstate. Had to blare the radio to even hear it. I like a quiet ride.

I thought the joke was always the bigger the truck the smaller the pecker.

Not hating on big trucks by any means, but I love my colorado Z, the short base will get you anywhere you need to go. The new silverados look like tahoes with a bed welded on the back. I'd be scared to take anything over a regular cab silv where I hunt.

Smaller truck is much better for getting places. A big truck is for towing.

Remove the boat hitch.

Chill out I gave you decent info after pulling your chain. Didn't realize you was so touchy about your little truck. Maybe your dad will get you a bigger one for graduation.

Yeah, that's why I said I ain't hatin. I wouldn't trust my rado to pull much, though in 4wd it made short work of a massive steel crawfish trailer.

When I have to money to buy a boat, I'll be upgrading to something bigger strictly for towing, but I doubt I'll ever sell the truck I have now. The money I'd get for it is worth it basically just to have a hunting truck that I know I won't ever have to call someone to yank out of the mud.

You do it yourself? What is the difficulty level?

What else did you need to change besides the spacers?

I think if you go to tires 12.5 inches wide you are going to have to replace your rims with wider ones.

Not bad. I didn't do it only because I was on crutches with a cast/boot on both my legs at the time. So I asked my dad to help me and he surprised me did it all for me while I was at school that day. If you have or know someone with big wrenches and sockets it ain't bad, I just bought a cheap spacer kit. Didn't even use a torque wrench, just a cheater bar and guesstimation math.

3" ended up being too much, it was on a backwards angle, so I made 1.5" rear lift blocks out of 1/2" plate steel.

Lift was $70. The alignment ended up being $180
