When you say rig, you mean rod/reel or baits?
Anyway, just got my favorite rod ever from Sierra Trading, Daiwa Procyon . I use Daiwa and Shimano 1000 and 500 series spinning reels. Mixture of Bobby Garland and hair jigs. Monkey Milk, grays and blues have been great lately.

1/16 oz chartreuse jig head with a black and pink tube tied to 4 lb test monofilament. Drop it to the bottom around pier or bridge pylons and slowly jig up and down until you find what depth the sacalait are at.

Zebco Omega with rod of your choice... typically 8-10'
D&M hair jigs 1/32
I know most people use spinning reels but the Omega is more versatile IMO

10’ B&M original. Zebco gold trigger spin. 8lb stren hi-vis gold. Small unweighted cork with the reddish peg. D&M 1/32oz, color depends on a lot.

I bought three ACC Crappie Stix a couple of years ago as well as one of their spinning rods. I paired them with the BPS spinning reels that are $25 and have had no issues. Two of my ACC’s are 10’ and I have one 11’. I also prefer the cork handles over the rubberized handles due to they feel lighter to me.

Zebco 33. Cheap store brand rod and an assortment of jigs. I've actually been using shinners more often the past year.
