Can anyone tell me what model STI this is?

A lady-friend owns it. She doesn't even know what it is. Her ex bought it for her. I took her shooting today and she brought it. First time in 6 years she's been shooting. She didn't even know what caliber it was. She thought it was a 40. We stopped to buy some ammo on the way and when we got to the range and dropped the mag it said 9mm on it... Sure enough I look on the barrel and it says 9x19... She says "oops. the 40 must have been my other gun that the ex kept after we split". Luckily all the other guns we brought were 9mm so we had plenty of that handy.

My God, it's the sweetest shooting 1911 I've ever shot. 1.7-1.8 pound trigger.

A couple months ago she was considering selling it and had it undervalued because she believed it was chambered in the less desirable 40cal.

I don't recognize those slide cuts from any production STI. My guess would be it's a custom 1911 built off an STI.

Can you get a picture of the other side?

Looks like a single stack DVC, but an older DVC.

When did STI go all tacticool on everything?

The gun pictured is a custom build with STI parts. Not one of their full builds.

This is from a friend that works at STI.

Thanks... Whatever the hell it is, it's an amazing shooter.

It was a fun day... Rocky & Carlo's, shooting range, boiled crawfish for dinner...

Why would you buy without checking the gun first?
You know how much trigger pull but not the caliber?

you'd want something like this in 40 if you shot USPSA. Got to hit major power factor for Limited division

Yup. I had to buy my first 40 for limited, and it went against everything I've ever stood for.

I'm fixing to get into that scene, myself. I'm buying a Combat Master and having it milled for an optic so I can run it in carry optics and see if I'm worth a shite

If I do ok and can see myself sticking with it, I'll pull the trigger on an Atlas in 40 for Limited

It's a blast. You should definitely come out and shoot. I haven't been able to shoot much the last month or two, but I'm about to get back after it next month. I started out shooting limited with my G17 and moved to the STI within a few matches. It made sense at the time, but if I could do it again I would probably just go straight to open.

I thought about trying carry optics, but I got bit by the PCC bug and it's by far the most fun. I'm going to give up the pistol and go all in on that for a while.
