Seems like 115, 124, and 147 grain bullets are the most common.

Thoughts?

Target shooting: 124gr flat point (handload)

Self defense: 124gr +P Speer gold dot or 147gr +P federal HST

Right now for target I use 115. I think my self defense is 124.
The reason I say right now is that I have a Deadair Ghost in jail. When it gets closer to time I’ll be loading some 147 to have subs out of the silencer.

And I shoot self defense rounds at the range for at least a couple of mags after the FMJ’s.

Range? 115 gr FMJ of whatever reputable ammo is cheapest for 1000 rounds when I run low. I'll run a magazine or two of my real ammo every couple of weeks just to burn my oldest stock and to make sure everything still cycles well and to just retain familiarity with shooting it.

Outside the range? 124 gr Speer Gold Dots or Federal HSTs. Both +P.

I prefer the way the 147 feel under recoil after comparing them to the lighter weights - less snap/muzzle rise and more push. YMMV
