She’s pretty

You can always pay 100.00 for a dog dna test, my mom did or for her rescue & it was much more detailed than I would have thought

That’s a big arse healthy walker hound. I bet she can push the hell out of a deer.

Probably a "running walker" (English or American foxhound). Kinda small for a treeing walker. Fine looking gyp.

If he found her in the last month or so I'd say she's a walker deer dog that got lost.

She doesn't look extremely lean in the picture for a foxhound. They're naturally very slim and long legged and built for endurance. When they're really run down they look like skin wrapped skeletons. At fighting weight you can still see their last two ribs.

Treeing walkers are usually broad chested with more squared heads, longer ears and overall a bigger heavier dog. I've hunted with several around 80 pounds. My English (roughly same as a treeing walker) weighs 90 pounds. Most of the foxhounds we used to mess with were 30-50 pound dogs.

Yea and very likely to leave the zip code as soon as she thinks she's had enough to eat.

For sure a Walker, she is good looking hound. No telling if she is a deer or coon hound. I can tell you this if it was a coonhound she would have had a tracking collar and her collar with name and address of owner. Hell get some coon urine from code blue and see if she strikes on it. I would keep a look out to see if someone is looking for her. She doesn’t look poor health.

Yea, a good one at least. Id expect a deer dog to have a tagged collar also at least.

I’d say she run hell outta deer, and those pups. If ya live around Baton Rouge, I’d buy her and the pups off ya.

You can’t tell from the picture, but she’s underweight. Her ribs are completely concave, and you can count every one. She was found on the side of the road, days after giving birth. She had dug a hole and was living out of it, likely dumped. Only one puppy made it. Dumping hunting dogs is a very real problem here, this is the third one in the last 2 months my buddy has fostered in not great shape, although this one was at least heartworm negative. It’s an easy fix though, a few pounds won’t take long and once she wears the pup, she will fatten up
