What I mean by “ideal minimum” is while yes you can get out there with a 24’, is it really that safe comfortable? Is a 26’ enough? I would think the 28’-30’ range would be ideal but I’m just guessing there.

26' is the minimum, a 26' Glacier Bay or Twin Vee or Cobia would do the trick
the 28-34 range is ideal

26 is minimum, but 30+ is ideal.

That is completely boat dependent. We fished many times with 4 guys out of a 25' hydrasport. Comfortable and safe.
I know someone who routinely fishes 4 out of a 23' cat for tuna and he is also safe and comfortable.
I've fished out of a 26' boat that I would never be safe or comfortable fishing 4 guys for tuna out of cocodrie in though.
Shape/size of hull and layout of the boat will play huuge rolls in the safety and comfort of a given boat.

I have caught a LOT of fish off a 26' Glacier Bay over the years... Much slower but very doable.

Slow boat going to China, but you can't really beat them for the money and fishability.

they are only slow compared to 30+ center consoles boats that came out in the last ten years

we could go faster in reverse than they go forward

Pretty much. Remember when we were buddy boating with TC and JL and left the rig 20 min before us and we still beat them to the next destination?

Remember that time we took out Wave Runners out to Brutus following Comundrum in his 31 Cape?

Neck hit that crew boat wake and went flying.

I routinely fish in my 20ft procraft out of Coco. A little rough, but if you take your time, balance the guys out, and bring extra gas, it could be done. Tuna be easy

There's got to be a gif of this somewhere
