You can’t go wrong with a Remington 870 12 gauge with plug removed. I keep 4 buckshot loads in it with none in the chamber to lessen accidental discharge. If the sound of me pumping a round in the chamber does not remove the threat, then goodbye criminal.

You can. A maverick 88 is the superior cheapo shotgun. It'll cycle when completely filled with mud
