Owner hooks are the best IMO. I have straightened out many of those japanese hooks before I decided it was the hook and not my superhuman strength. But in all honesty, I like to use 2/0 for texas rigging...the smaller you can use, the better because it allows the worm/craw/creature to have a more natural action when you work it instead of being stiff.
