What area/state would you recommend for a family cabin?

I've recently been thinking that building/buying a family camping cabin somewhere, maybe as a multi generational spot with my brothers.
Some place where the kids can get a week to not be in the mess of civilization.
Put up a few fruit/nut trees (thinking multi generational) and berry bushes, do some fishing.
One issue is I doubt we would be visiting it all year, even with all of us, I doubt we would be there more than 8 weeks a year, so would prefer somewhere mild, between Texas and NY.
I've heard others talk about their cabins, any advice?

Very beautiful
They both look to be in zone 7, which is the same as where I live.
Thanks!

Just keep in mind that anything farther than 3-4hrs from where they or you live becomes a chore to drive to and life gets busy. School/sports/other activities will limit the amount of time that kids and eventual grandchildren can travel even though they may want to.

My requirements were that it had to have at least a 2ac lake and ability to hunt. Either 30+ acres, or real close to a national forest or WMA.
I bought in South MS, but am open to expanding it or buying elsewhere.

Duly Noted.
There are four of us and we live across the country from TX to NY.
I'm unsure if we would be doing more than 8 weeks there total (2 each family) unless it was really close to one of us.
To your point, It's not like I can take off 4 weeks a year to just make sure the Cabin is in one piece until I am retired.

I want a place either on a lake or a river but I’m holding off until I retire. I have a deer lease that has a trailer on it and just keeping grass cut bugs sprayed and general maintenance gives me enough of a taste that I don’t have enough time to add another “residence” .
If you factor in taxes/insurance/utilities and upkeep you can rent a vrbo for 2-3wks a year and come out ahead.
Don’t get me wrong I want my own place to and will get it one day but I’m just not ready yet and I know it.

They call them air B&Bs
Close the door when you’re done and have no worries

Multiple master bedrooms. Seriously.
Or, Multiple small cabins around a great room or common area.

I’d probably try to find something in eastern Tennessee maybe around Maryville or pigeon forge!

I've been leaning towards less of a vacation, more of a family spot that we could hand down.
Being so spread out across the country does hurt the idea though.

Very curious about this.
What's the advantage disadvantage.

It gives everyone a little bit of space, which helps when you have multiple families and or multiple generations of families staying together.
Different families and different generations have different needs.
The young couple with a baby, for example, probably wants to hang out with their cousins/siblings/extended family, but still needs a quiet place for the baby to nap.
The grandparents might want to go to bed while the 20 year olds are still partying.
