Alright folks. Who's headed out west for the start of archery season?

We'll be in southeast CO, leaving next weekend.
I've got a muley tag and buddy has an elk tag.
I've only been elk hunting the last few years, first time with a mule deer tag and looking forward to it. Going to be in high elevation so lots of hiking this year with plenty of 13-14k peaks.
Got the bow good from 70 so far and feeling good legs wise as i've been walking with my 65lb pack a lot the last 3 months.

Best of luck to the rest of you, and don't forget to enjoy the scenery.

I've been watching these guys, looks awesome.

There's another one where they ran into a Griz while tracking Elk.

What unit?

Archery for elk is next on my agenda. We'll be there for 2nd rifle this year.

Montana Archery tag checking in. About to book my flights for first week of October. Been rucking a 25lb pack and moving to 35 lbs next month. 65lbs is ALOT of weight, but will help you when it comes to packing out.

Good luck ma baw.

My Wyoming elk tag is good for archery and rifle, but only one bull. I’ve archery hunted this unit before, and ended up coming back in rifle and killing then. It just doesn’t lay out well for archery. Currently planning on going out for rifle on 10/9. Will make an early run to Missouri, mainly just to scout. Good luck.
