Went down to Surfside TX with the wife and kiddos and mostly spent the time enjoying time away from the office. Lots of seaweed on the coast. We tried a little fishing from the jetty and caught one small bluefish. We did a little crabbing and had some success. I had planned to fish the surf as I was being told that limits of trout were being caught in the mornings. Sadly right after the alarm went off this am I heard a clap of thunder and looked out too see a downpour.

Fished marsh and bay area behind GI. Found fish but every time we got on them we were run off by storms. Rain not a worry but lightening runs me off every time. Had a good view of a water spout though - yikes!. All in all about 50 trout and a bunch of small rat reds. Good family time on the boat as always though.

Yeah we got ran off by those storms. Saw that waterspout. First time I've ever seen one. Caught nothing but trash fish. Tried to fish the pass for bulls but the current was just way too strong for the yaks and then lightning ran us off pretty quickly as well. Then the wind picked up in the afternoon and just made the day worse.

3 of us went to Bayou Pigeon and caught some sacalait and breamses. Had 49, caught over half between 1-2 when the thunder started. Water is rising so we didn't do as well as the guys earlier in week. Going back as soon as it starts dropping again.

Tried to fish Elmer's. Surf was rough and the current was really strong. Ended up fishing the backside, caught countless 11.5" trout and watched a big storm roll over us.

my cousin tried his hand with the electric filet knife on the largest bass, unsuccessfully, but we did find a gut full of plastic worms in it.

Face is better than the nuts.

Found the trout in the bay behind the Elmer's beach that connects with Caminda. Waded around back there much of the day (save for during the sand, rain and lightening storm). Caught a few on soft plastic and top water, but mostly they wanted live shrimp.

Was your buddy the guy in the tent?

After the storm, there were two guys with a kayak, had waited the storm out in their car. As the rain let up, I look up and see them going to get the yak where they left it and had a serious wtf moment. Dude had on a wet, flesh colored bathing suit. It was fricking hilarious.

No, he's got a camp on beach. He didn't do much either. I think he went to inventory his liquor more than anything.
