It is wasp season again. Last year i sealed off all gaps between my brick and soffits. That really put a hurtin on the wasps around my house. Well com this season I have been taking care of all the new nest they are trying to build on my house.

Any efficient traps anyone use to keep populations down that come from neighboring houses? the coke bottle with the top cut out and put upside down didnt work.

To answer your question, I just stock up on Spectracide when it's on sale at Lowes and walk and shoot around the house every few days. This summer should be interesting though because it's our first summer with our new metal patio in the back.

A couple of years ago, my inner thigh discovered we have red wasps. Was out there washing the vehicles, and my daughter was helping. I'm barefoot and wearing some old gym shorts. Felt something stick my knee. So I swatted at it, and didn't see anything. 10 seconds later, a 2nd sting, and then a third. The dang thing got in my shorts and was working its way up my leg, stinging all along the way. I stripped down with a quickness and went full rampage mode on what crawled out of the shorts, which were now on the floor of my garage. Wasp spray was purchased and I was taking them out for the next month.

Yup, free from the grocery store. As mentioned they don't work with mud daubers. I have 2 hanging in my shed, a few mud daubers come around I haven't seen any wasp attempt to make a nest.

LINK This stuff is the shite. I spray it over all exterior siding and eaves and it prevents them from building nest. Also kills any spiders/roaches/etc that cross over that spray for the next 3 months.

Yeah, when I get stung I start a goddamned jihad afainst those frickers. It's all out seek-and-destroy for the next year or two. No matter how many you take out, they will always find somewhere to hide. Last year there was a huge nest inside the reel my hose is on. I would never have looked for them inside of there. Unrolled the hose one day and a swarm burst out.

I've sprayed myself and had a company spray some last year. I suppose it worked to a degree but reapplying seems to be the key. I started spraying ever other time I mow.

Not sure what bats will do regarding wasp, but I've been thinking about some bat houses to help with mosquitos. We'll see how that goes this year if I ever get any up.

Yes, apparently the wasp think it's a Hornets nest and don't want anything to do with it. I have 2 stapled to the rafters in my shed.

To get rid of mud daubers spray your house with premetherin. This will kill the spiders which is a good source for them.

Vaporized a huge nest in a tree behind my house with my 12 gauge last year.

For the ones around my house that I can't shoot, there's a carpenter bee spray that works well on geps too.

I despise wasps...those evil frickers will attack and sting you just for the sheer pleasure of it.

I typically just buy a few cans of wasp spray and walk around the house about once per week unleashing a holocaust on those bastards. once you do it a few times, you see that they really keep rebuilding in the same areas, so they are pretty keep down by just checking those spots frequently.

I have been told the wasps think it is a hornets nest...

Maybe its true... I am just not sure how you would know what a wasp thinks..

I got lucky last year and found their roost in the rafters of my barn. No lie, there must have been 50-100 wasps all holed up between a beam and the roof. It was semi warm so they wernt real agile. I sprayed the shite out of them with Raid and haven't seen many since
