Australian Cattle Dogs can be aggressive do probably not good around kids. If you really want a great selection, go to Canton Flea Market in Canton Tx. It is held the first weekend of each month and have just about every kind of breed to choose from. I highly recommend the "Pet Alley" there for your next pet...

Any breed of dog can be aggressive if not properly socialized with children, strangers, or other animals. If you have some statistics that indicate ACD's are more aggressive with children than ANY other breed, I'd love to see them.

No statistics. I agree most dogs have the capacity to be aggressive. Everyone posting about dogs in this thread is going off personal experience. Just b/c an Italian person was mean rude to you does not mean all Italians are rude. Blue heelers, from my experience, are very territorial. I have only seen 2 bites from them in the ER. Biggest culprit of dog bites?? Award goes to Great Danes...

I've been bitten by a Great Dane. Fact.

Of course it wasn't bad, he was young and I was drunkenly taking his rawhide bone and fricking with him all night. I was kinda asking for it

I didn't read past the first page, but I'll throw doberman pinscher in there. I know the reputation they have, but it's not all true. My last dog was also a german shepherd. I wanted something similar, but with less hair to shed, so I went with a Dobie. Turns out, mine is nothing like my GSD, who was from true working stock. The dobie is a big baby and loves my six year old daughter like you wouldn't believe. I feel fine with her playing in the back yard with him because I know he won't let anyone near her.

My GSD was very smart, but this doberman is the most intelligent dog I've ever been around, and I've had dozens of dogs. He's super sensitive and tuned into people. It's freaky almost.

But if you get one, get one from a good breeder. I paid quite a bit of money for my pup.

This is my boy, Kuno:

One more lobbying effort for the BMC. My daughter is at home sick in the bed and he's keeping her company.

He also cock blocked me this morning. He jumped on the bed while I was trying to get amorous.
