Fillmore,
What made you decide on the Boykin?

Small size (roughly 30 or so pounds, give or take). Everything I read said they're very trainable, love to retrieve and please their owner. Shedding is very minimumal and they are just good looking dogs IMO
Sporting dog in the body of a house slog.
Plus the breeder I've been in contact with is about 30 minutes from my house
All that aside, I really haven't read anything wrong/bad about the breed
(eta : I'm on my phone to don't mind the sentence fragments and jumbled thoughts

I'm not trying to argue with ya or anything. I've always wanted a chessy. I'm just speaking on my experience. I know you don't cut down the tree because of one bad apple.
I'll own one one day.

I've been thinking pretty hard about a BMC too. How much do the Ladner pups go for?

Thanks. Now I have to figure out a way to buy one and trick my wife into thinking I adopted it.

They won't be whelped till mid March he takes $150 deposit by paypal. Seems to be a good man that cares about the bloodline and the dogs, not a puppy farm.

If you want to drive to north La I have some half Jack Russel Half Blue Laceys I will give you one. The Russels are very good yard dogs and great with kids, the Lacys are good with kids and love to play they are also one owner dogs. I can post some pictures of the ones I want to give away after I get home in a week, I plan on keeping one of them.

We have a beagle for a house dog. He barks and bays similar to a coon hound, just small. Also have a male yellow lab outside. I wouldn't consider either dog to be intimidating towards strangers, although the beagle does act like he wants to attack strange people until I let them come inside and then they're his new bestest friend.

While working yesterday, the Dish network guy came to install a new box in the boys' and guest room. Only my wife and kids were there. My catahoula was ready to eat that guy alive had my wife told him to. After she told Tank its ok be a a good puppy he nearly licked the guy to death. Yesterday was the first time I think my wife has been proud of that dog. She used to complain about him all the time now she knows why I wanted him. Then after the dish guy left he promptly ate my supper of the counter. frickin dog

Porter did that to the A/C guys at the house and at work the other day he went after a cop. I thought he got the cop from the sound of it. Dumbass stepped over a gate to follow me into my office. Porter woke up and was on that arse. Good thing the guy is a friend.

At least you had a dinner to get eaten. My wife was off from school and work, I didn't get any dinner. But she had time to go carpet shopping and have lunch with her friend.

GSP's were discussed on page 3. They were definitely on original list for consideration.

My wife is at hobby lobby and target with her mom while I'm working today. I make it, she spends it. There's something wrong with this picture. My supper consisted of chili cheese fries and ice tea. Real healthy huh?
