I know every Dr. there. 3 of the 5 were in my wife's 2002 class at LSU, another married Brian West (former MLB/LSU football player) and we've met at parties and Dr. Stevens helped my wife's clinic out tremendously when we bought it 2 years ago.
It's a Taj Mahal and the OP said he didn't want to pay excessively.

I second Hellouin. I have seen both dr. phil and dr. carl and they are both very nice. I never felt like the prices were too high.

I'll put in a third recommendation for Helloin Veterinary. Dr. Phillip Cancilleri is an excellent doctor and a very good frined of mine. Like others said, he his one of the biggest LSU fans around. He's very friendly and goes out of his way to take care of all his patients.

False River Vets. Very good pricing along with all the newest equipment in house. There are 4 Dr there and one is my daughter.
