Going offshore fishing out of Venice this weekend. First trip of the year. My buddy is about to have his first child so six of us booked a trip through Mexican Gulf Fishing Company.

Have you baws been tearing up the tuna lately?

If they take the river south, hold on when they come out of the jump into the river..

Given the cost of the charter I am hopefully optimistic.

I response to the comments: we already have a deal to shotgun a beer anytime someone says Gulf of America. At the very least we will have a great time. If we get on the tuna I'll be super happy.

I had one buddy go last weekend.

They are there. It’s just been tough to get to them

Thanks, brother. Hopefully we got on them! We'll see. This is the type of trip I'm lucky to go on once a year with the cost.

If nothing else you'll be able to get a beer flinging flying boat ride outta the deal.

Keep in mind that once the boat leaves the dock, it is full price. You can play drinking games on the dock, get wind burn, and reschedule the trip.

Obviously, fishing is the first choice, but just keep this on mind. Drunken decision making tends to lead to not good places…..unless that is just me?

Do you know which captain you are fishing with?

Good call - I'll keep that in mind. Fishing with Cameron Alda. Do you know anything about him? I heard all their captains are good and we can't go wrong. Hopefully that advice is right.

I think it’s been too windy for anyone to get out lately.

I do not know Cameron personally. I know people that have gone with him and had a great experience.

Looks like 2-4's this weekend on Windfinder. Won't exactly be smoothing sailing but you will be fine in those Freemans.

Don't worry they'll be plenty wet by the time you get to use them!

I think they are all good, but some of them are a lot more fun to fish with than others. Not going to throw anybody under the bus as being a dickhead, but can say that Joseph Morgan and Dawson Wells were both a good time

I went last week with Mexican Gulf just 3 fisherman on board and caught our 6 and were back at the dock around noon.

I believe you will do well. Good luck!
