The 300 BLK was optimized for a 9" barrel. You're comparing to something optimized for a 16" barrel and only getting a few hundred fps more velocity from an additional 7".

A few hundred FPS is huge.

Just over $100 for a matched set on E-Arms. Couldn't pass that up.

What you said confirms what noted gun writer Col. Townsend Whelen (remember the 35 Whelen cartridge) said near the turn of the century: "Only accurate rifles are interesting."
He also had another great quote that still rings true after nearly 100 years: "The 30-06 is never a mistake."

"Everything that goes around, comes around" ....right??? This is another good example of an entrepreneuring gun man taking advantage of the growing AR platform market. The 300 Hamr is basically the 30-223, AKA 30 Apache, AKA 30 TC/U. from the silhouette game of the mid 80's now resurrected as a hot new cartridge 30 years later for the ever popular AR market. Take an old, unpopular cartridge, tweak it just enough to make it yours, attach a cool new name to it, get someone to load factory ammo for it and "voila", there's a new cartridge. Same thing happened w/ the 300 Whisper-->300 Blackout, 357 Maximum-->350 Legend and now 30 TC/U-->300 Hamr. Not much in ammo is actually new these days. Regardless, it should be a decent 200 yard big game cartridge if using the right bullet.

Is this 300 Hamr a light gun? If it isn't why not just get a AR10? Ammo is much cheaper for the .308

It’s an ar15 frame so yes it’s lighter.
And my argument has always been but a light ar10 from pof but my dad is stuck on left eject and won’t get it.
