uh yeah, that's not correct. But sounds like you know that already.
Bet i could find you a map from mid-1800s if you give me Township and range and section.

Ok Clyde why wouldn't I do that? It is illegal to trespass and this lets the trespasser know I am willing to enforce the law.
Because that doesn't actually enforce any law. I would generate evidence first before having my lawyer blindly fire off letters to people. Seems like he doesn't have any proof at this point in time.
quote:
They aren't MY ducks but if they are on my land they are for ME to hunt not you or anyone else. If someone trespasses and shoots them they are no longer there for ME to hunt on MY land. When that happens I get pissed and take them to court period. What is hard for you to understand about that?
These guys are hunting public water. They are not trespassing while hunting. Just while stashing the boat (Allegedly). If he confronts them, then they'll just build a boat pen on the back of the blind. Problem solved.
So far none of your suggestions would actually accomplish anything since they have every right to hunt public property that anyone else does.
You can't run them off because public property butts up to your privately managed duck hole and they are firing their guns too close to your spot. Perhaps, the private property guys need to re assess their blind locations and what areas they flood in regards to limiting the benefit to or distraction from the nearby public land hunters.

Where have we established this is public land?? That seems to still be in question.

Well, I would damn sure figure that out before I had my lawyer fire off letters as you suggested.

That is the only question.

Alx, I appreciated your rustle attempt earlier in the thread. I just want to acknowledge.

I'm just making argument for debate's sake... I can envision exactly what's going on here. Basically, the rich guy is pissed people can hunt near his private hole. He has called the law and apparently they aren't going to do much. On the other side, these guys have found a public spot that is better than average as a result of rich guys efforts. They have good hunts and continue to return. I don't blame them one bit.
I hunt public and fight with the best of them, I've been on some of the best "tennis shoe" leases, and I personally own property I can't keep trespassers off of. I have experience with all sides of this issue.

Wrong on so many levels.
All: If anyone has experience with a similar issue and can weigh in how to get mine resolved, your insight is appreciated.

From your OP...

We've got some family land in N. LA that backs up to the Red River
Rich dude.
quote:
We have spent time and money to have the kind of duck habitat necessary to make our place great, but one huge problem: the public land hunters.
So you spent time and money to make the area better for ducks, and you are upset public land hunters have figured out hunting near your property increases their chance of a better hunt. Check
How is that wrong on so many levels when I said?

Didn't want to read whole thread but if they are walking across your property I believe the worthless pieces of dried up donkey frick are trespassing.

I would have already either
A: Untied/sank his boat when he walked across my place to get in aforementioned blind.
B: Baited the absolute piss out of the pond
C: Put a pile of snakes in the blind. Giant fricking pile of snakes.
D: Tied a live mink or a dead skunk under the seat of that blind.
or a combination of several of those. Probably A,B, and D concurrently.

Speaking of baiting I got reminded of a funny story about baiting and a fellow you may know this weekend.
****, how much corn did you put out?
Awe I put about 1500 pounds about 3 weeks before the season, then another thousand the week of, I mean it wasn't really all that much
