I really miss this show, and Tony was a great host.
Anyone know why he ended his life like he did?

Is it really our business to know?

Always ended his show with a joke, usually about Boudreau.

Not really, I just don't remember hearing any details about this other than the obvious. He seemed like a really happy guy on the show and someone that enjoyed life.

Lots of speculation as I don't think the truth ever came out, the family kept it to themselves. I think it had to do with mental health or Tony being diagnosed with dementia, Altheimer's, Parkinson's.
He had some great fish recipes and his Boudreaux & Thibodeaux jokes at the end of each show was his signature sign off. Really miss TF & CC. He was a good guy who supported and promoted the local talent in South LA. (chefs, restaurants, musicians, and fishing guides)
Tony Fontenot (59) and Theophile Bourgeois (55) - both gone to soon

Absolutely. Ive had the pleasure to meet both on a few occasions and both were as genuine as they seemed on TV.

Is that the guy that killed himself at Thib Reg?

Was always one of my favorite fishing shows, loved Tony and always enjoyed Cedric Watson's music on the show.
Bo Grafton who used to regularly be on the show with Tony sort of picked up the torch and continued to make the show and named it Keep on Castin'. Not sure if it's still airing on TV but every few months they'll upload a few new episodes to their Youtube channel. Not quite the same without Tony but I always watch any new episodes and glad to see the show sorta lives on.
Keep on Castin'
