Simple fix is don't keep one in the chamber.

This is the worst idea ever.

I keep guns w safeties that way I don’t have to keep them away from my kids. Keep safety on and nothing bad ever happens now.

No idea how the FNS internals work, but I don't see how this kind of malfunction would even be possible with a factory Glock.

Firing pin safety should prevent it, and even if it was broken for some reason, can a Glock striker even produce enough force to ignite the primer without pulling the trigger? The trigger pull is pulling back the striker spring the rest of the way and without that extra spring pull I don't think it can send off a round.

This is good sarcasm, but there’s no getting around the fact that a manual safety is one more impediment to accidental discharges.

Of course ultimate safety from AD would be not having a gun at all, so we have to find a balance between safety and accessibility/usability by the intended operator. I guess that’s up to everyone to figure out for themselves but for me, the manual safety (or something more than what striker fired pistols generally offer) has better arguments in its favor.

How does it happen w/ an FN? I'm not familiar w/ FN's, but it seems unlikely a gun would be designed (especially in today's lawsuit society) where the gun could ever discharge w/o the trigger having been pulled. I've not heard of this problem until this story. Is there more to the story?
