I'm considering selling my AR now to take advantage of the current hysteria and in a few months when things settle back down buy a new one and pocket the profit or use it for upgrades.

What do you think I can get for it now? It's a plain Colt Sporter AR 15 .223

I don't understand people selling their only AR assuming they will be able to just go out and buy one for normal price in a few months.. You know there is still a very good chance you may not be able to buy shite in a few months right?

I would look on Gunbroker or a site like that to see what they are selling for and go from there. I just sold my Armalite to a friend for 2000.00, but it had attachments and 300 rounds with it, fully decked out, mint condition and I still made about 200 - 300 off of it. I never used it and I am not too worried about Congress banning these types of weapons, just the magazine sizes and ammo purchase limits.

It's not my only AR, does that make a difference in your opinion?

Yeah, a terrorist might fly a plane into Congress while it is in session, killing several hundred Republicans only, like that Tom Clancy novel. They then somehow get replaced by liberal Democrats despite the currently gerrymandered districts, and voila, Dems control the house and Senate, and they pass gun control legislation, queer marriage laws and open our borders to everyone. That could happen.

Or, Dems can run their mouths about it for months, maybe barely get it thru the Senate, then it doesn't even get out of committee in the House. The sky is not falling chicken little.

Thanks, I've never sold any of my guns other than to a friend once.

I was at a pawn/ gun shop asking about them and was told that nothing is readily available and at a recent show one that a few months ago that sell for 1250 now is asking / selling for 2250.

I'm not selling it to any of you jacklegs on here, especially not for $600 . I don't want any offers, just wanted opinions on how much they're selling for nowadays and if I should profit off of this hysteria.
