Cartridges are pretty high for what they are. Check the video out and save some coin.

A lot of times I forget to turn mine off so I burn up a tank of fuel but only use one pad. So I end up with extra pads.

I’m the only one at the camp that ends up with a surplus of fuel but short on pads.

For as good as it works I don’t care what it costs. I just buy a few refills when I go to academy. This is one of those products where I just admit defeat, they could charge whatever they want for them and I would still buy.

I've seen on another website people recommending ordering the generic mosquito repellant pads from ebay. I haven't personally tried them.

eBay generic pads work. Don't last as long but work just the same

Its pretty easy to pull the check valve re-glue and fill the cartridges back. Been doing that for a good while. Have recently (3 years) been buying permethrin and adding a water based color dye to it an putting it on the used pads so far so good. Not as tell tell as the blue fading to white because the dyes I have found tend to stay on the pad. But when its on and I see them start to get close and buzz me I change the pad or add a few drops to it.

I appreciate someone figuring out a way to do it cheaper.

I, on the other hand, make about 4 clicks on my phone and get $50 worth delivered to my house from amazon in 48 hrs because I don't have time to refill them myself.

I have purchased the Generic Pads from Ebay... They are a little tight in the Thermacell units but they do fit and work just fine.

They are 12 hour pads and come with 72 or 90 pads for about $10.

Look up "ARS Mat 12"

ETA: It looks like Raid makes them now but they still have the Chinese symbols on them. The ones I see on EBAY now are clear plastic wrapped. The ones I purchased a couple of years ago were individually foil wrapped and came 60 to a pack.

ETA2: I had them in my truck so here are pictures of the ones I bought.
