Here is a screen shot from the camp today in Pigeon looking at the lower Grand. Normal level is around 3-4' below my deck. Watching the cam I can see fish swimming in the yard.

It's actually pretty close to the level it got in the flood in 2016 and it is supposed to rain for most of the week

BTW CBR900, there goes the road
Tell Jeremy not drive his heavy arse truck down there.

All the shite we have backed up here in Oklahoma will be heading your way, too. The rivers here are ridiculously high. Brace yourselves.

Flash flooding in full swing here in Pearl River County and gets worse further north. I-59 is underwater around Hillsdale betweeen poplarville and hattiesburg. Train derailment from flooding in Lumberton. Many back roads washing out in northern parts of county. Hopefully I can get to my place tomorrow afternoon when the creek crests so I can see where the water got.

You should be running traps in your yard.

We've been joking about that for a couple days now.

We are now 1' away from the highest recorded level at the Sorrel gauge and almost exactly what we saw in 2016.

Dang! Glad I'm on the Tickfaw/Blood river. High water is less rain driven and more wind driven. It's got to come up another 7 feet to reach 2016 and is actually slowly falling.

This normally happens once or twice a year for us on average. The roads and the house are fine, just the cost of living on the river

Just got a call from my brother. Said the agents yelled at him yesterday that the tickfaw was closed. I tried looking but can't find anything. Anyone know where to find that info?

Eta: found an article, all waterways closed. Started yesterday at noon until further notice.

Did you look at week long forecast ? Don’t be too confident just yet. East wind all week. That’s killer for tickfaw with all the water coming down the amite into maurepas , good luck everyone

The gravel road behind my house that leads to catfish canal...which leads to the sun oil tanks on grand river... Is underwater.

It has happened only three times in my life.

2004, 2016, and now.

While it stayed flooded before the atchafalaya levee system, this isn't all that normal.

Pipeline is 5ft deeper than it was 2 weeks ago.

It's now officially a few hundreths higher than 2016. With the spillway so high, there's not much more rain we can handle since the river can't drain and will likely stay up like this for a couple weeks without more rain.

The marsh needs the flush so this will be good long term for the area.

Today might be a couple tenths higher based on my firepit being nearly underwater.

We have been holding steady for more than 24 hours but the velocity of the water is down substantially, it should start dropping soon.
