I have to send a scope back to Vortex for some warranty work. I had the scope in the box it came in. The guy ask "is that a riflescope?" I said yes. He said we dont ship anything associated with rifles. So damn un-American. But they will ship dildo's all day long.

UPDATE- The Vortex VIP warranty is fantastic. Finally got my scoped shipped with less than two weeks until I left for a weeklong hunting trip. Vortex replaced my scope with a new one and I got it in less than a week. No receipt, no paperwork, doesnt matter what happened to it or how old it is, they will fix it. All optics not just scopes. FYI in case someone is on the fence about Vortex or their VIP warranty.

Wow! Did you ask if this is a new policy UPS has implemented? I know I have ordered ammo online and it was shipped via UPS.

You should ask for a manager and if they say it is store policy, then contact UPS and let them know that a store isn’t following company policy. UPS does ship rifle parts. They even ship firearms.

He said they have had this policy for about 10 years. I said what if I came in with a plain box? He said if they didn't know what it was and I didn't say then it would have went through. And it's a 1x4, very low power, but those kooks have no idea.

Stores are privately held and can make rules like that. Just drop it at a UPS hub or have a driver pick it up.

I have it on a good word that UPS will ship ammunition for rifles directly to your door. So I’m thinking that guy was BSing

This, but I'm surprised UPS would let them franchise if they aren't following UPS rules.

20 years ago, I would ship, via UPS, cheaper Virginia cigarettes to a friend of mine who lived in Missouri. Same brand out there was about 4 times the Virginia price. UPS wouldn't ship cigarettes if I told them that was what was in the box. They told me to put some socks in the box and label the box as "socks" and they would ship it...and did.

They did the same to me. Went to Fedex and had no issue.

Well...a scope CAN be used as a dildo if you’re brave enough.

UPS stores are privately owned and are dying off. Fed Ex stores are all owned and operated by Fed Ex and are significantly more reliable
