If she cleans fish and game, she is a keeper.

Thanks very much for doing this build and posting all those pictures, everybody. I want to have one now. Fishfighter, thanks for sharing your skills with others.

What is funny is that despite the fact that I built it, in my excitement to test it, I was riding it backwards.

Been working on the pirogue here and there in the evenings, and last coat of paint will go on tomorrow. Took longer than it should have, but I went with a two-tone concept. Hope to post pics of finished product tomorrow around this time. It has been a fun process.... I can actually say I'm not ready to be finished yet! Thanks again, fish

Finished product. Minwax gunstock stain and spar urethane on the seats and rubrails. Duralux marine pirogue paint. FYI- Gabriel's building supply in Ponchatoula has the Duralux wooden pirogue paint for $23 a gallon. Can't beat that.

Looks nice and even the wife approves it.
Thinking of throwing a 10' together for my grandson.

Just wow!!
I will have to take a pic of mine with my cell phone from 30 yards on a cloudy day so you do not see the hammer marks and bent nails!!
Would not trade it for anybody's!!!
Have two coats of primer and base paint on it, trying to figure out how to ultimately finish it.
I like what BP did. Just not sure of my direction yet.
Thanks for bringing back some good memories and thanks again Fish!!

Nail pusher.

A little heads up on hammer marks. Get the wife's iron and put it on steam. Steam each hammer mark. That will swell out the wood a little. Good tip too if you ding a gun stock. It will cloud up some under the varnish, but will clean up over time.
