Wood clamps will be in need. 3" are fine or bigger. We will need 8-10 per boat.
is this what we're looking for?

Those will work or just some cheap C clamps from Harbor freight that cost a couple bucks each.

OK everybody. I email all those that want to come. If you didn't get a email from me, let me know.
May 10 is the start date. If we get a early start like 7am, we could finish the boats in one day.
Oh, we need to get a sticky for this thread. How does one go about it?

ETA Dont think I can take part in this build-a-thon, wish I could. Ought to be fun and you get a boat out of the deal.

OK guys, this is were I ordered the glue from. It takes a little less then a qt. Or, if people want to hook up and order gallon sizes.

Still waiting on a call back on that 14' sheets of marine plywood and cost.
OK, got a call on the plywood. They don't have 14'. 16' sheets are $174. And they are very low on them.
So, for all that are looking to build, start calling around your area for 1/4" fir a/c exterior. Make sure you ask that it is. Some places sell just interior. Not good.

Talked to my guy at Sorrento Lumber, he can get 4x8 sheets of ac fir exterior with a 3 day notice, at about $35 per, however he strongly suggested to go with marine plywood (which he can NOT get) and suggested robicheauxs in Raceland
Fish what do you think exterior vs marine?
if anybody is going to get it from Raceland let me know, if we want to go with what he can get at Sorrento let me know and we can make one order, but obviously they would not deliver to new roads so we would need to make arrangements

When it comes to 1/4", the only difference is that marine grad has a/a or a/b grade and the are holidays in regular plywood. All the same glue used to put together.
Thicker marine plywood has more ply's.

That is who I talked to this morning.

How many sheets are we going to need total?

He deals more in resins. That link I put up, they are easy to order over the phone and took about three days to get it. 2 qt packages and shipping was just over $75 if I remember right.

My guy at Abita lumber thinks he can get it for us, working on it and I'll know more today or Monday. If he can I would be willing to pick up all and bring over by trailer. I will post up as soon as I have an answer.

We need a total # of pirouges being built and then make bulk orders on the wood and the glue instead of several small orders.
I will be attending and building a pirouge.
Damn, I am excited about attending this thing. How many are confirmed at this point?

For those of us poor souls not able to attend, why don't one of you guys set up a digital camera and record the entire process.

I will be there and have little wick with me. We will be building...

I'd like to bring my 14 year old son for a build...he's actually stoked!
Any campgrounds nearby that you would recommend that can handle a 34' travel trailer and 30amp service?

Well, if you didn't need power, you could just park it in my yard.

There is one just a couple miles from me on False River. If you want, I will check to see if there is any opens tomorrow. I know the people that own it very well.
BP, let me know when is a good time to call you or call me when you can. Nothing after 9 pm most days.

I Rad for a sticky, don't know if it will happen.

I may be able to borrow a generator...or If you can swing one 30amp hookup I'll give you $30 for the electricity...
If you think we can get em' built in one day, then I'll skip the camper.
if you get the time and can call the owners of that campground, then that would work too...
I got a feeling this OB gtg is going to be EPIC
looking forward to meeting you Fish...
