Quick question. I've been procrastinating on setting up a battery box. I've been using a dry bag, but that wont do any good it if goes underwater somehow.
I got a 12v 7ah battery. Got any set up recs?
ETA: Its probably been discussed in this thread, but I'm not gonna sort through 71 pages

Where do you plan on putting the box?

For the longest time I had a deer feeder battery in a camera bag velcroed to the inside of the hull under the little center hatch cover. It eventually broke free, slide around the inside and ripped up all my working, that didn't work.
Mark Makers showed me Berley Pro's dual battery tray for the Slayers, but at $150 I wasn't even considering it so I ended up making my own version. It held 2 batteries, I had mounted a ram mount for my Lowrance unit, and passed the wiring with Hobie thru hull fittings.

Exactly where YOURADHERE has them in the picture. That's very close to how I envisioned it. But I'm not spending $150 for a battery tray either. I guess I just need to find a good waterproof box to house the battery. As long as it fits in the front storage opening.

I think I still have my old plastic cover at the shop here, I could probably make something real quick to hold 1 single battery if you need, 2 was total overkill.
