I left work a little early yesterday. TVA is dropping the water levels on our lakes for the winter, and the temps have been up and down for the past few weeks between hurricanes. But, hopefully things are settling down now. The fish were few and far between but it beat the hell out of sitting behind my desk, and they'll fry right up.
I've had my $400 F&S Eagle Talon kayak for a few months now, and I've gotten $1500 worth of enjoyment out of it already.

Gonna set my alarm in the morning and check the forecast. Choupique might be my only option. Everywhere else looks like rain.

Lemme know how you do at choupique if ya go... I’ve only gone once but liked the launch & area.
I wanna do a Leeville trip real soon if y’all wanna get a crew together. Troutzzzzzzz

Will do. I heard the flounder have moved in. I've never caught trout there.

Trout are there supposedly. We shall see.

Still got time baw! To troll around the cove before that front hits. I’d roll with ya but I’m on call all weekend.

Ended up at Choupique this afternoon. Caught 2 nice flounder and a bass. Also caught 1 rat red and a blackish gar. That thing was ugly. The salinity is good and the water is clearing up.

There's a Kayak launch off Chilly Westlund road.

There's that old dock, but don't know if it's off limits.

The old boat launch? I don't think it's accessible. Either it's private or gated off or something like that. Would be nice to use though.

yeah I don't think so either we fished around it pretty hard the dock seems to be in good shape but the road didn't look like its seen traffic in a while

I just looked it up on Google Earth and if looks like you can get to it pretty easily. I wonder what the story is, look like maybe it's private property.

REI Co Op has the Bending Branches Angler Optimus Paddle Extension on sale for $29.83, normally $119.95.
Basically you can covert your BB paddle into a SUP paddle, canoe, paddle, or just use the thing as a 8' stake out/push pole, which is what I intend to do with it.
LINK
Shipping was quick too, they're in Houston, I ordered last Wednesday and had it on Thursday.

Thanks for the stake out pole link! Wishing now I'd gone with a BB paddle instead of a werner. Oh well, still a steal for a stake out pole.
