I really want to go after last weekend, but my wife going into labor would put a damper on my fishing

I still haven't been to Fred's, Spicer's or Joe's Cove. I like the fact I can be at Fred's in a little over 1.5 hrs.

So I checked back on that Kickstarter for the carbon fiber kayak, quite surprised they've found 5 suckers to cough up $8000 for one of those things.

Spicer's
Was there for 4 days and only saw two yaks. I'll be going there instead of West Cove from now on.

Is all of that area west of Hwy 27 open for fishing or is any of it private?

What area did ya fish Alx, towards the mouth of Black bayou or in the marsh?

Haven’t fished that area at all
always thinking there would be a lot of boat traffic with not that many places to go

From close to the mouth back through all those little cuts. There's only a lot of traffic in the defined bayou. Only a few crabbers come through the short cut.

Wasn't a true yak trip. We mostly fished from the dock. I was the only one using a kayak, and I didn't go out often. Didn't catch many when I did.

I didn’t. Just looking into what some of the experienced kayak fishermen on here thought of it before I bought one. Not gonna be another 6 months to a year till I get one, though.

Nice flounder and love the colour of that first red. I really like the deep copper colouration they can get.
Fished the east side of the lake yesterday, water was filthy and low to start. Ended up finding a couple spots with cleaner water and managed 2 smaller flounder and an 18.5 inch red as well as a random croaker.

I really need to sell both of my boats. My pedal boat has shitty layout and my great layout boat has no pedals.

Same here. Love the fact that you can turn the seat into a sight fishing platform.

Where is Choupique bayou?
