Was peddling past a popular dock yesterday and caught two nice black crappie with little effort . We were heading to Tunk's to eat, so i did not hit it hard. Will be going back soon.

Where are you putting in/taking out on the Llano? Are you using a service to drop you off somewhere?
Still contemplating a trip down there in mid-May and trying to gather information. Thanks for anything you can provide.

Thanks and will do. I've been fishing clear rivers for spots, smallies and largemouth for a while now so hopefully it's nothing too unusual for a lure and presentation standpoint.

I will say this. That river you gotta get close to the cutbanks. And small baits just get way more strikes. Last trip i wasted 2 hours pitching a 3.5" craw. Switch back to the 2.5" and immediately caught 5 fish on the same 200' drift

Two Hobies? Better have some serious tires on that thing, and like...5 spares.
Posted on 4/17/18 at 8:36 am to AlxTgr
Yeah definitely. Gonna pull a trailer behind this trailer with just spares.

That’s a sweet setup ther Unc!
I’m hoping one day I’ll add a few more kayaks for my family members. I’ll need a good yak trailer then.

Little Alabama. I hadn’t been there in almost a year. I need to go more often for some of those stress free, no pressure fishing trips.

I haven't been since last year. I caught 8 in a morning on a shad rattle trap or a chug bug. Is the water coming down yet? I did pretty well with the bream once they started bedding...I use a ligon bream killer fly for them.

I have no idea what the water level is supposed to be in there. It was about 15-16 feet in the middle. The fish were active in the morning. I caught about a dozen 10" bass on a silver rapala skitter pop early. Unfortunately I realized that the GoPro wasn't on for most of them.
At about 10 am they pretty much shut down. I had switched to a senko and coaxed a few more bites. in the afternoon after a couple hours of no bass bites I started bream fishing. They were biting really well. But most of them were small.
