I was extremely close to pulling the trigger on it and worrying about the consequences later, but I talked myself out of it. Decided to save the money for house and boat repairs. Will probably end up getting a kayak later this year to have something simple to take fishing for a quick trip, but I just can't make myself do it right now.

Masseys in BR had a demo ATAK 140 they were selling for $700... almost picked it up a couple months ago. Hull looked almost new!

Went home and read reviews and found that many complained of the rear hatch leaking. An issue that was addressed by getting rid of the hatch in the 120's.

That being said, for the price it was almost worth dealing with.

On a side note, if you're ever interested in a great deal on a Coosa HD...

Anyone else went to seminar at pack & paddle last night?

No8 and I went. It was pretty good... a little more geared toward first time fisherman I found, but still picked up a couple new things. And the beer was good so there’s that.

I watched the video of it on Facebook last night. I've heard the presentation before, but it was good to see that they expanded on some things and added new talking points.

Looked like John had a good sized crowd at the shop

I am planning on watching it at some point today. Did they talk more about equipment and rigging or about actual fishing techniques?

A little of both but more equipment/tackle talk than fishing techniques.

Overall it was a solid presentation I think would be good for someone just getting into the sport and picking up a lot of the basics of what to throw and when to throw it
But did enjoy the cold beer and the blonde in short shorts

If you went to hopedale, I would put in at Pip's launch and fish at Hopedale Lagoon. Should be able to pick up a few trout and reds.

I'm debating between Hopedale and Shell Beach now. Read some good reports out of Shell Beach from last week. But that was last week.

If i go to Hopedale lagoon I'll probably drift and see if I can find some oyster beds.

There really isn't oyster beds. More or less flats that transition into deeper water. Buddy went out there yesterday and got 8 trout, but several were really nice.

Gotcha. Guess someone mislead me or I misunderstood him about the oyster beds.

Any idea what your friend was throwing?

With the time change coming in a few weeks, are y’all going to start up the Wednesday afternoon CPR tournaments this spring?

Yep, though we may wait a few weeks when the days start getting longer, at one point last year we were fishing until 8pm. Definitely going to make them happen again this year.

Went to Hopedale Lagoon this morning. Only picked up two specks, but was cut short due to some strong wind.

When I was in PAC a few months ago the Jackson guys had one there they were testing out and I briefly checked it out, it's an interesting concept for sure. They didn't put it in the water though so I couldn't bother them for a test spin.
