This is the same Mayor who outlawed salons but got busted posting a pic with her stylist. Her response was that as the face of Chicago, the rules didn't apply to her.
More recently, after encouraging "expressions of free speech" throughout the city, she had a large contingent of CPD officers assigned to her residence. When questioned, she claimed that her family had a right to feel safe!
Can't make this stuff up!!

Hey I currently live in Cary and work in Palatine. A coworker lives in Elgin and would probably suggest living elsewhere. A lot of great places to live a short distance from Elgin and most of the suggestions here have been accurate.
This has to be my all-time favorite OB thread. Please keep the photos coming for a displaced Louisiana boy living up in Illinois. Helps me get through the winter!

I had a coworker who fancied himself a big duck hunter. He got a plate that said "DKHNTR". Every called him dick hunter so he changed it to DUHNTR. Then he became the dude hunter.
We used to catch them when I lived in Nebraska. Easy to care for like Teague said and pretty docile.

Yep. Polygraph/Psychological/Physical and that's after you've already passed a written and physical fitness test.
No more like denying all drug use then flunking the polygraph on the drug question. Truth is we expect that people will have some drug use in their background. It's really how long ago, how many times and what kind of drugs.
Hate to break it to you but even an expunged arrest can be found in a thorough background investigation. Your best bet is give it time and then be completely honest about what happened. Use it as a way to show how much you have matured and learned from it.
The biggest thing that disqualifies people is drug use, and I mean recent drug use. This includes "study aids" a lot of college kids use without a prescription such as Adderall and similar medications.
Its all about putting time between the arrest and the interview. Speaking for LE in Illinois, a DUI 10 years ago would not automatically disqualify you.
I had recently moved to Terre Haute, In. and like any good juvenile delinquent was throwing snowballs at cars. Some guy jumps out of his car and catches me. He notices my LSU sweatshirt and I tell him we recently moved from La. He asks where we are living and lets me go. The next morning I come downstairs and he is sitting at the kitchen table having coffee with my parents. I think I'm busted but he never mentioned a thing. Only told them he met me wearing the LSU sweatshirt.
