Damn Allen rod fricked up. The little metal fastener that secures the reel to the rod got completely stuck and won't budge. Even used pliers on it and it won't budge. Sucks, I have only used it three times really. Not sure what happened but I have reached out to them for a warranty replacement so I will let you know what they say. Only thing that sucks is its my only rod and I was going to bring it to NC this weekend, but I don't know how long it will take to get it to them and get one back. Might try asking them if I can just bring it straight to their warehouse in Southlake for a quick replacement.

I only wish this one was caught on the fly but it was too good to not share. Weighed 20 lbs exactly.

Although it is my first fly rod and I don't really have anything to base it off of, I absolutely love it.

I e-mailed them first thing this morning and still haven't heard back. Last time I e-mailed them they responded immediately. This sucks. I even put WD40 on the locking nut and it still won't budge.

I have one of the guys a phone call and he picked up (think it was his cell phone but not sure). Told me to email some dude and cc himself(the guy I talked to) and I sent my reel back and got a new one back in a little over a week.

It was an issue that they were having with some of their Alpha 3's. I think it had to do with the drag washers. Haven't had any problems since they sent it back tho.

Just spoke to Jared at Allen FF, and I'm taking my rod up there this afternoon to replace the handle.

I've never heard a bad word spoken about how they treat their customers.

Walked right in. He looked at it and said oh yeah let's trade that out. In and out in 3 minutes. Awesome. Of course them being only 20 miles from here helps out

anybody have any experience with reddington warranty? My drift reel became a fancy line holder yesterday and a poor one at that.

What's everyone's favorite fly shop?

Duranglers is definitely my favorite. Durango, CO.

Orvis has been the most helpful for me as a novice, but I have also been to uptown angler in Nola and Fish Hawk in Atlanta.

Mclellan's in Fayetteville. Owner is a great guy and does a lot to build the FF community in our area.
