Thank you for your Help with killing a Turkey

I always manage to make the wrong choice and my luck is so incredibly bad great and famous Turkey hunters who have hunted with me generally conclude that I am in fact “cursed “ or something. (I know you have killed hundreds of turkeys and could put me on them in a day, but been there tried that too many times. You would be saying WTF, where did that bobcat, hawk, stay dog, bulldozer, jackhammer, idiot hunter from Arkansas, freak storm, Bigfoot, hen etc come from, while saying this has never happened, etc. I can kill any streak and from Will Primos down shut anyone down. This curse must be broken.)
I have too dollar Texas hunt where I assume they tie them to a Turkey with mono at end of the month so a chance anyway.
I have a nice Turkey patterned on a ridge on edge of swamp last 3 days. He is probably nesting in tree close by. (I know the nesting trees from last year. He comes to this ridge scratch’s around every day about 5 pm. 4 days in a row now.
I have a tent right on him. Should I:
A) Just go to tent in afternoon. shut up and wait.
B) Go in morning and try to call him in
C) Go in afternoon and call
D) Go in afternoon and call with hen decoy etc
Included to go A or C so that’s probably wrong move
Any advice appreciated.

Do A. It’s going to work. Trust me.

All the above haha.
1- if you know where he is roosting i would get close.. not too close. Super early, set up decoy. Get settled, and not make a peep. Wait til crows/owls sound off for him to gobble. Once day breaks, throw out a couple yelps to let him know you are there. Put call down and wait. Hopefully he flies down close and you can close the deal.
2. If it dont work, go back in afernoon and "deer hunt" him, cut him off on the ridge on way to the roost. Call, but not too often. And dont expect him to gobble much if any at all, get still and be ready
Keep in mind, some old birds dont like decoys, im after one that way now. Had him 75-100yds twice this yr, he looks at decoy and goes in the woods. He wants the whore to come to him. So if you realize this, dump the decoy to keep curiosity in the tom to reel him in. Its a cat an mouse game, which is why its so fun once you seal the deal.
As far as this, they wont use same trees every night. They may stay in general area, as long as dont feel threat, but they wont go back to same trees every night.

Yeah it’s kinda hard for me to screw that one up. He may have been doing this for a while my camera just working on ridge last week. I have him strutting full fan today

Your only prayer is to get in and sit quietly and hope he walks by and happens to die of a heart attack within sight of you.
Also, male turkeys do not nest. If they did, they also wouldn’t do so in a tree.

I think I'm done with decoys. I've had them hang up too many times wondering why they won't come to him like you say. I shot one last weekend that hung up on a logging road about 65 yards from the decoys, luckily I was closer to him. I'd rather him come looking for me, but I mainly hunt woods and only head to the fields if I strike out in the woods. I guess I'd still use them if I parked under a shade tree on a field edge in the later parts of the day

Mid to late morning is absolutely the best time....for big gobblers!

If no one else is hunting that Tom, just be patient. He’s henned up right now most likely. At some point he won’t be and you can kill him. Personally I’m not a fan of afternoon hunting, but yes if you want to hunt him on the way back to the roost that’s a good way to kill him. I wouldn’t put out decoys, I’d way patiently and maybe do some soft calling to get him closer

Just be patient. Most of the time when we make mistakes, it's because we weren't patient enough to wait him out.

Sit there quietly then blow an owl call every 15 minutes followed by a crow call 30 seconds later.

Also make sure to blow a peacock and red tailed hawk call every 22.5 minutes, since they attract turkeys too.

Heard owl calls, crow calls, peacock, and a first for me a Canada goose call today. 7 am the trucks start riding around. Hate to hear that gravel popping and pray the turkeys don’t gobble at whatever they are blowing

Get some of those plastic pink flamingos and put them out as decoys
Tom’s are very curious and territorial. If you don’t can’t hunt put them out with a game camera and see what happens

Boy turkeys don’t nest. They do roost in trees every evening. If you know exactly what he is doing, and he is doing it every day, then get there before him and wait on him. If in fact he is doing the same thing every day, and you know this, and can’t kill him then yes, you are a horrible turkey hunter and it may just not be your thing. More turkeys are killed by persistence and woodsmanship than the best calling, comfortable turkey loungers, or blinds.

The back-up beeper on a backhoe has been known to attract them.

Be patient and enjoy it.
Oh and for stubborn toms I like to put out a Funky Chicken decoy. That damn thing is one sissified special ed looking decoy and I've had toms come right out to beat the piss out of it.
