I've lost 3 people in my life from boating accidents. I 100% wear my life jacket and kill switch. It's not an option, if I don't have either I don't go, simple.
As far as kill switches, people fly out of boats all off the time. This would ensure the boat come to a quicker stop with no driver and takes some risk away from it doing more damage.

And look at the Louisiana Law requiring people born after Jan 1 1984 have taken a boating certification course. You mean to tell me someone born in dec 1983 who has never driven a boat doesnt have to have the certification yet someone born in jan 1984 who has driven boats since he was a kid has to? thats just lunacy.
Therefore my stance is either everyone should have to or no one.

He came into the thread ready to spout off about personal liberties thinking the purpose of this law was to protect the operator of the boat. He got caught with his pants down once it was pointed out that this law is intended to protect other boaters and people on the water and, instead of admitting that he was wrong, doubled down.
