Got a question for the deer hunters on this board... I deer hunted our property in tensas for the past 15 years and have never seen rut activity this early. Saw a bunch of scrapes in mid October and this is my first sit since then and saw 2 different bucks chasing hard this afternoon.

My question is has anyone else in this area starting to see any rut activity?

Not on our place. Young bucks still all hanging out together not worried about does at all. It's Christmas time before they get fired up on me.

You will see it briefly after it gets really cold this early in the year. Mainly with young bucks

Man there ain’t no big bucks at Tensas. 2:1 ratio hunters to deer. Might as well go hunt somewhere else..

Deer are running a couple weeks earlier than normal at our little place.

I need to hunt this weekend but will take the young uns to shoot some ducks.

I agree we usually have our big rut around Christmas/New Years but had another decent buck trailing a doe this morning. Odd for us to see this activity this early.
