Me, my son and wife spent the last 2 days camping here in Baldwin County, AL. Close to the beaches but many moons away from the shite show that's down there this weekend

Bought him his "first" firearm. Just a cheap ole Heritage .22 6.5" barrel. He shot it pretty darn good all the while teaching him the importance of gun safety.

He caught the ever elusive warmouth

Sorry tigerdad, I was about 2 feet away from this bastard before I saw him. He never moved a muscle but opening his mouth as he took a .22 to the face

Of course the camp fire

Keep it simple

And this is why we keep coming back

Take them because they'll enjoy it. And hopefully never forget it because I remember doing the same with my dad

Spending time outdoors with your kids is how you pass it on. Outdoor life is sadly a dying culture.

Glad you had a great weekend he'll remember those moments longer than you will.

I really enjoy spending time in the woods and I'm fortunate that my son and wife do as well. Doing it alone, especially camping, would blow

That’s awesome! Making memories right there.

My middle son 14 spent most of the day on our pond and caught enough bass to fry up for dinner. Took every ounce of my being to let him take over the filet knife but he will never learn if I don’t let him practice.

I got mine hooked on hunting and fishing that way he didn't have money for drugs. We went perch jerkin yesterday, had 3 catfish, and about 20 perch. Trips these day with him are getting few and far between, he has a job, his own boat and his friends that he likes to go with, so I do cherish my times with him, even though he can be a little knucklehead.

Man what a wholesome post. I smiled all the way through reading it. My wife is pregnant with our first for her 4th time. As of now, it looks like we might really be parents this time. I dream about weekends like your post. Hug them tight and make the memories.

No matter the path your son takes in life, he will always remember those trips. Always

He made it about 30 minutes. But definitely a good paddle. Saw gar, egrets, a small gator, and pink apple snail eggs.

That’s awesome brother! Spent the weekend at my camp in AL with my two catching fish, riding trails, and taking a break from the regular world.

First trip since having shoulder surgery in early May. I probably wasn't supposed to do this, but I was going crazy being cooped up so long. And, I had a brand new TFO rod I really wanted to try out. Caught about a dozen like this or bigger before fatigue, wake boats and jet skis ran me off the lake.

Had to work some OT Saturday, but Sunday, the oldest and I spent the morning at a pond in the field behind the house catching some palm sized bream and some 4” bass . Then spent the rest of the day riding the fourwheeler through the fields hunting for snakes and raccoons. It’s her favorite thing to do on her off days. Glad I don’t have to beg her to do these types of things

Brother, I know what you mean, and I’m praying for you and your wife. My 9 year old was pregnancy #3 and my 3 month old was #8. The good lord knows when it’s time and as shitty as the hard times are, the gift of a child is worth every ounce of hurt. Almost lost the wife march of 22 with #6 and lost #7 in May last year. A beach trip the following month to come to terms with giving up on a second child actually produced #2.

Her big sis is “lil mama” and hopefully the youngest follows in her footsteps.
