Send to the trailer board if necessary.
Have an 84yr tandem axle trailer on the farm that will need to me moved by end of February.
Hasn’t been on the road in 20 yrs so; tires, bearings/hubs will be replaced. I am estimating $1,000.00 complete ($200/tire, hubs?).
Question is, is it worth the effort to put trailer back on the road?
It’s in great shape other than tires/bearings but it’s going to an all day affair (4hrs up back).

Going to contract my farmers son to change hubs an and I will drive up and replace the tires, hell I may pay him to do everything.
Dad used it to store his deer corn for 20+ years and I bet the bearings haven’t been changed in 40 yrs. Solid trailer that I have to move or give away.

It's probably built better than anything new.

A man could own 10 different trailers and still find an excuse to need another one.

When dad died he had 7 trailers and 3 boats I had to dispose of. This one bought to carry freezers to Montana on his way elk hunt. For 20+ years it was his deer corn trailer, they would pull it out and let the combine dump till full. It’s got gmc and chev hub caps, maybe missing one I don’t member.
Kemo Jr got moist yesterday when I old him my plans because he wants it to duck hunt Kansas next year.

Give that dude a box of parts and a shitload of deck board and let him get after it.
Good lesson to be learned here. Do a good job, or change hubs on the side of the road in mule dick Oklahoma at midnight. Master of your own fate and what not.
