Tacoma owners - let's discuss the notorious damn leaf spring squeak

Is there any permanent fix to this? I usually just pry them apart and spray some dry lube in between them when it gets really bad, but that will only last about a week or 2
seems I have to do this every month and those damn silencers that the Toyota shop puts on lasted about 3 months

I haven't found a fix yet.

What year model are we talking? Maybe I should put it this way: how long before my 2014 starts doing it?

I've heard people complain about the clutch pedal squeak, but not this. I put at least 4k miles on mine over the last two weeks, but damn it's a fun vehicle in the mountains.

2010 here
it started at about 60,000 miles

Leaf spring squeak? I'm glad you made this post. Mine is squeaking from the passenger side rear. I was thinking it needed new bushings and was making plans to rebush them, now Imma have to look deeper into this.
I wasn't aware there was an on going problem with Taco leaf springs squeaking. Looks like I'm off to TTORA.com for some research.
Thanks

There's a little neoprene grommet on the clutch pedal that sometimes wears out. I don't think it's that difficult to replace. Mine is need of replacing right now.

This! BTW-2007 model, so I have been dealing with it for a few years.

Did it on my 99 and my 04. I took both springs apart and loaded them up with grease. When I would wash the mud off of the leafs, I'd make sure to hit them with WD40 after I was done. Pretty much fixed it

Mine is a 97, with 152,000 miles. This squeak has just shown up within the last year.
Take em apart and graphite the hell out of em? Or put those Teflon strips between the leafs?

I used random grease I had(hi-temp lithium tub) and that was all

Take a bicycle inner tube and cut it into long pieces. Pry the leafs apart and slide the cut sections in between them.

I just bought one, too. So far, no squeaking.

Put thin strips of hdpe in the springs

Get a new leaf pack, I'm going with a new pack from Ironman 4x4 soon.
Tacomas made after '05 are notorious for awful leaf springs, which is why they have a TSB out for the original springs put on them.
Just get a new 11-leaf pack, their springs are garbage.
