I owe my dad some money from a previous transaction and said instead of money, he wanted this brand scope. Do they make one in 50mm under $500?

I think it was new. I remember the price but I don’t remember if it was 50mm.

It looks like the Z3’s are on sale, but the lowest is $699: Eurooptic

The lowest 50mm is $829.00.

Those are good deals for great scopes.

Swarovski is about as good as it gets. Better get it at $700. Don’t worry about 50mm. Great glass beats big bell.

Too many people think they need a 50mm objective lens.

They don’t. It just gets in the way.

40mm or 42mm is as big as most people need, and 36mm would actually probably be good for 90% of people who hunt whitetail deer.

And great glass trumps objective lens size all day, every day.

My dad thinks he needs 50mm so he can see better. He thinks it brings in more light.

Oh, he a putting it on a Marlin 17 hmr rifle.

How much light gets in is a function of a lot of things, glass being of the greatest importance.

If he wants a 50mm on his 17HMR, that’s his business... but that’s a lot of glass for a small caliber.

For what it’s worth, I don’t have any scopes over 42mm on my big game rifles.

I have a mid 90’s Swarovski 56mm and that sucker draws in some light. Can see later with it than I can with my eyes alone.

Best hunting scope made. Go ahead and drop a few grand on one. Your dad will be proud.
