'm waking up early and driving to SW MS Thursday morning. Going to reseed before the weekend rain.

Looks like another good rain starting Saturday evening and on into Sunday.

Might replant tomorrow. Planted last weekend in September and haven’t been back but assume it germinated and died. Hopefully it’s not too late.

I’m going to over-seed with oats this weekend. Hoping they last through January.

Use wheat or 1/2 oat 1/2 wheat.

Wheat is more of a later season crop than oats. Oats mature fastest.

I woke up at 3am this morning and went to MS. One plot is slow going so reseeded the whole thing. Other one looks great and just reseeded some bare spots.

I just planted. SE LA. Radish and clover

Never planted this late. Just a small plot that if rain doesnt come through I can attach a bunch hoses and reach with a sprinkler

Already planted Backwoods Attraction Big 3 plus clover. It’s coming in pretty well everywhere but one food plot.

It’s too wet to plant after the rain we’ve received last night and so far today. I actually prefer Oats over everything else we’ve planted, but the price has a say in some things.

I planted 2 weeks ago and plot looked great today. I didn't have faith in the forecast when I planted so held off on the nitrogen and put Urea out today. I might actually make a foodplot this year.

I too, might actually produce some food for the deer.

Best start we’ve had. Planted last weekend

I didn’t read all 8 pages but….
I planted Oct 15. Came up, but not well.
Replanted bare spots last weekend and plots looked great this week.

You do realize the deer will have plenty, with or without your food plot, right?

Sheeeeit my deer was skin a bones last year with the drought.

But seriously, i just logged 200 acres. Got tons of food and habitat. On a burn schedule etc.

Just trying to get rid of feeders and use only supplementary.

More protein (metric tons) year round is the goal

But thanks for your input.

Planted Saturday at our lease in Marengo County AL (nw of Thomasville). Got about a tenth of an inch of rain Saturday evening and another Sunday. Supposed to get .5” Wednesday. Should be perfect. We have no bow hunters and we’re two weeks from gun season. Worked out fine.

There's nothing like sunny 80 degree days mixed in with regular rains to kick start a food plot!

I think it’s rained a little every day since I planted two weeks ago. Excited to go see what it looks like.

Yeah I’m beginning to think we might be getting too much rain now but it beats the alternative

Almost - and forecast calls for highs approaching 80 through first of next week. I’m really looking forward checking my plots this weekend!
