OK, how do you choose? Finally pulling the trigger on some Rx ones and I just don't know. Main uses will be fishing and driving. Possible hunting, but not likely.

I got the amber and love them. I don't ever think I could go back to just a gray tint. Gray just kills all the contrast in color to me. Maybe if I fished true "blue" water I would want them but I prefer amber. I have costas with the amber/green glass fwiw

That is my lean. Just making this thread in case someone presents a reason to not get them. Before I needed RX, I had two pairs of MJs and almost always preferred the amber.

What kind of fishing? Offshore, blue or smoke. Inshore, amber or copper.

Your answer is it depends. What is your primary usage? Bright Sun? Overcast? Want to be able to see early on with sunglasses? What type of fishing? What type of water?

THese are all questions I ask my patients before they get sunglasses from me. I can guide you better with those answers. I do prefer amber or copper, but have about 12 different pairs for different conditions.

I've had green mirror, blue mirror, gray, and silver mirror costas

The silver mirror give me the best vision freshwater/inshore. I don't fish much offshore.

Obviously different light conditions call for different lenses, but as an all-purpose lens I liked the silver mirror 580 lens. It's a copper colored view.

I like green mirror/amber. Not the nest for all light conditions, but pretty good for most.

I've got some bronze lenses. Really like them. My kids say it makes everything look like "tea."

For stained water and wanting to use them for both bright AND Overcast Amber is your only choice IMO. Mirror helps some but IMO is as much for looks as performance in anything other than open water. Amber really has the ability to brighten things up in overcast/dim conditions. Many people wear them in the rain also for that reason. Hope that helps.

I am trying to decide on some maui jim's, I am planning on getting a kayak in the coming year and want to fish the marsh. Would the green lenses or the amber lenses be best?

Sightfishing in the marsh get Copper/Vermillion hands down the best for sightfishing in the marsh. Will have some similarities to amber but just better in the marsh.
