Sulzer Grendel
I bought a cerakoted 6.5 Grendel rifle from him back in 2017. Gun is a deer/hog killing machine. You will love it.

Really sad Sulzer is gone. Dude was very helpful on transfers. I don't think he was making enough money. I think if he had greater exposure here and elsewhere he'd have had more business. But maybe it was something else.

Dude was awesome. His lowers and cerakote jobs were top notch. I also bought a 18” 6.5 grendel from him. Price was too good.

Hey folks, a buddy tipped me off on this thread. Thanks for all the kind words! The shop has been closed for about a year and a half. Basically, it boiled down to not having the capital for equipment to expand my machining/production ability to where I wanted to take the business and the increased saturation of the AR market. I didn't want to own a "gun shop", I wanted to be creating and innovating. My niche was my 6.5 Grendel offerings. In late 2018 I had finalized my design for special AR15 upper/lowers that accepted the Magpul 6.8 SPC mags and was talking to another company that was going to start producing 6.5 Grendel metal mags made that would fit these larger magwells ( TFB post about the receivers). Depending on who you were this was a big deal because it allowed for longer OAL on the Grendel (and other) cartridges which could improve ballistic qualities while staying in the AR15 size class and maintaining all the parts compatibility aside from the mag catch and mags. Long story short, after machining/shipping an initial run of the receiver sets, I sat down looked at the production data, ran the numbers and it was apparent that I would need to greatly increase my machining capability to really make it worth producing them. At the same time the 6.5 Grendel had really taken off and other companies with cheaper offerings were starting to take a bite out of my 6.5 Grendel pie. So, I decided it was probably a good time to move onto other endeavors. I sent my designs/models and some samples for the 6.8 receivers to David Famiglietti at New Frontier Armory, who was interested in producing them, and folded up shop. David unexpectedly passed away days later, however, I checked a month or so ago and it looks like they do produce the receivers. Anyways, Thanks to all that patronized the shop. I enjoyed getting to meet so many of y'all from this board!

Man that lower sounds awesome. I’m trying to get more speed out my rounds but am limited to col of magazines. No fun loading one round at a time.

Hey man,
I've only ever used you for transfers, so I imagine I wasn't a profitable business contact
.
But I did appreciate the reasonable price involved, and as always, liked meeting people involved in the firearms business. You seemed like a good guy. Good luck

My son killed his first deer last fall, and it was with the Grendel upper you built for me. Thank you for everything. I wish you the best in your future endeavors.

Awesome! I always enjoyed getting the emails with stories and pics about the rifles out in the wild.
